Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) apply to all persons (“Entrants”) entering the FUTURE ICONS Competition 2025-2026 (“Promotion”), and agree to be bound by them, when entering this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any given time, if the terms below change based on any circumstances beyond Promoter’s control.

Entrant(s) – Refers to all those who enter & are selected to take part in the competition, up to & including the National Final.

National Finalists – Refers to the top 3 scoring entrants who will proceed to the Regional Finals.

Regional Winner – Individual Final – Refers to the overall winner of the Individual Challenge at the Regional Final, also known as the Future Icon.

Team Challenge Winners – Refers to the 3 winners of the team challenge event at the Regional Final.

PROMOTER

1. The promoter is Bacardi-Martini B.V. of Weena 505, 3013 AL Rotterdam, The Netherlands (“Promoter”). The Promoter is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Promotion (including determination of winners, prize-giving, and technical support etc.), with the assistance of local partners at the discretion of the promoter.

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY PERIOD

3. This Promotion is open to Entrants who are legal residents of the country they are participating in, who are of legal drinking age in their respective country (18yo in Singapore, 20yo in Thailand, 21yo in the UAE) and who shall comply by applicable local laws (i.e. Syariah in Malaysia)

4. The following may not enter or win a prize: (a) employees of Promoter or its agents and their first- and second-degree family members, including but not limited to siblings, children, or cousins, and (b) anyone else who is directly or indirectly professionally connected with the Promotion or the Promoter and their family members.

5. Competition submission starting date:

6. Competition submission closing date:

7. Any entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered for inclusion into the Promotion.

10. National Final event will involve a Wild Card Challenge, where finalists will craft a cocktail based on a trend or theme set in advance, and be judged by jury and consumers. Event to happen:

  1. Singapore – 23rd February 2026
  2. Thailand – 23rd February 2026
  3. United Arab Emirates – 4 February 2026

HOW TO ENTER

11. To take part in this promotion, Entrants must visit futureiconsbybacardi.com and complete the online registration page.

12. Entrants will need to provide the following information when entering the competition via the online registration page:

13. The Entrant will also need to have read these Terms and Conditions and must have ticked the box to confirm they have done so and that they agree to this document before their entry can be submitted.

14. Once a submission has been completed, Entrants will land on a confirmation page confirming that their submission has been received and that they will be contacted via email after the entry period’s closing date if their cocktail is selected to progress within the competition. The Promoter reserves the right to reject entries based on incomplete information being provided, inappropriate content / language, or if they otherwise fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Once the entry has been submitted, Entrants will be unable to go back and amend their entry.

15. By entering this promotion, Entrants warrant and represent (guarantee) that they know of no information, facts or circumstances related in any way to the Entrant that could reasonably be considered damaging or embarrassing to the Promoter by virtue of the association between the Promoter and the Entrant arising from this promotion.

LIMITATIONS / RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRY

16. Each Entrant is to propose a recipe for a total of two (2) cocktails: one Classic Cocktail and one Future Icon:

  1. Classic Cocktail is a time-tested drink with a simple, balanced recipe that’s widely recognized, consistently replicable, and forms part of the bartender’s essential repertoire.
  2. A Future Icon is a modern riff: a twist on a classic cocktail that keeps its core structure but swaps ingredients, techniques, or flavors to create something fresh and contemporary.

17. Entrants must use a minimum 30ml serve of the specified Bacardi Limited Portfolio brand within each entry cocktail recipe. All recipes must contain no more than 6 ingredients (including the spirit). Entrants may include ice & garnish as additional items.  Any garnish or spritz that is not already listed as an ingredient and which changes the taste or aromatic profile of the cocktail will be considered an additional ingredient e.g. bitters or liqueurs applied to the glass or drink etc. Entrants must provide the sub-recipe and method of production for their cordial or any other homemade ingredients; these should be easily replicable.

18. Entries that do not include all components set out in clause 17 and entries that do not comply in full with these Terms and Conditions will be disqualified and will not be counted.

19. If an Entrant is unable to compete for any reason including VISA requirements, no other Entrant can compete on their behalf/as their replacement.

20. The Promoter reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel this Promotion and/or these Terms and Conditions if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.

21. Entrants are responsible for ensuring they will be able to accept the prize(s) as set out below and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. This includes obtaining the visa required to travel to the Regional Final in Bangkok and the paid trip to Europe. Whilst the Promoter may support to facilitate visa obtention, it shall bear no responsibility if the participant fails to obtain the visa, and the Promoter may in that case provide a reasonable compensation at its discretion.

DRINKS CONTENT STANDARDS FOR ENTRIES

22. Regional & National Events: The indicated Bacardi Limited Portfolio brand(s) must be the dominant spirit ingredient by ml/oz in the recipe. Entrants will be provided with a competition toolkit prior to their recipe submission, detailing the specific challenges, recipe submissions, rules and scoring criteria. If using additional spirits, outside of the core indicated brand, Entrants must only use Promoter group’s brands, and a full list can be found at www.bacardilimited.com

23. Spirits from the promoter's group (Bacardi Ltd) are to be purchased solely through an appointed distributor. No spirit bottles outside the Promoter group’s brands must be visible in pictures or assets submitted for the entry.

24. The content standards set out below (“Content Standards”) apply to all Content or other information or materials provided by the Entrant. The Content Standards serve to provide examples and are not meant to be an exhaustive list of the types of Content that are unacceptable for the purposes of the Promotion.

25. The Promoter expressly reserves the right to disallow or disqualify (or prevent from passing through the judging stage) any entry which it considers does not comply with these Content Standards or which it considers does not meet normal standards of taste and decency. 

26. By entering this Promotion, the Entrant hereby warrants, represents and undertakes that they have read and understood Bacardi Limited Responsible Marketing Principles, available upon request and substantially set out in this Section, and that the Content meets the following Content Standards:

  1. All Content must be legal and meet normal standards of taste and decency;
  2. All Content must meet all applicable requirements relating to advertising and promotions, including the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing and the Direct Marketing Association code of conduct;
  3. Drinks, drink names and content must not encourage, condone, promote or glamorize under-age, excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcoholic beverages or drink driving or any behaviour considered dangerous, antisocial, illegal or immoral;
  4. Drinks and drink names must not be derogatory or defamatory of any person, entity or institution;
  5. Drinks and drink names must not be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;
  6. Drinks and drink names must not promote violence of any kind;
  7. Drinks and drink names must not be sexually explicit and any accompanying photographs must not contain any nudity;
  8. Drinks and drink names must not harm or attempt to harm anyone, in any way;
  9. Drinks and drink names must not be targeted at or be likely to appeal to an audience under the legal drinking age of the country the Entrant is participating from;
  10. Drinks and drink names must not promote discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
  11. Drinks and drink names must not be likely to harass, upset, embarrass alarm or annoy any person;
  12. Drinks and drink names must not be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent the Entrant’s identity or their affiliation with another person or entity; and
  13. The use of the Content for the Promotion must not infringe the intellectual property of any person.

PROMOTER’S USE OF CONTENT

27. By entering the Promotion, Entrants grant the Promoter, its affiliated companies and its subcontractors the irrevocable, perpetual (non-exclusive) permission and right to use any and all Materials, Promotion entries, photographs, videos, voice recordings and any other media relating to the Promotion or the Entrant supplied to, or captured by, the Promoter in connection with the Promotion:

  1. For the purposes of administering this Promotion;
  2. For promotional and publicity purposes in any media throughout the world, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from the Entrant; and
  3. In any way in all digital and social media in connection with the Promoter and the Promotion, in each case, including transmitting, storing, publishing and processing the information and data set out in this Section 22, in such manner as the Promoter deems fit, and in its absolute discretion, including outside of their own country.   4. Entrants hereby agree to do such other things and execute such other documents as are reasonably requested in order to allow the Promoter to make such use of the Materials and to give effect to these Terms and Conditions. An Entrant may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity and public relations activity in connection with the Promotion.

28. To the extent permitted by law, Entrants hereby waive in favour of the Promoter, and agree not to assert, any moral rights (or similar rights worldwide) in, and in connection with, their Materials.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

29. STAGE 1 – SUBMISSION: Entrants are invited to register and submit their two entry cocktails – Classic Cocktail & Future Icon for FUTURE ICONS 2025-2026 on the futureiconsbybacardi.com website between the dates stated in sections 5 & 6 of this document. A panel of judges will assess & score entries before confirming participation of all Entrants. This may be subject to entry quota per market.

CLASSIC COCKTAIL:

  • MENU FEATURE (30) - Confirmation/proof of classic serve(s) made with one of the lead brand(s) in market on bar menu

FUTURE ICON:

  • NAME (5) - Is the name creative, memorable, and reflective of the cocktail’s theme or inspiration?
  • RECIPE (30) - Does the cocktail display an appropriate balance of ingredients? Does the recipe indicate there will be a positive taste, mouthfeel, texture, harmony of flavors and finish of the drink?
  • APPEARANCE (10) - Is the cocktail visually appealing? Does the garnish enhance the visual or aromatic appeal of the cocktail? How appropriate is the vessel to showcase the serve?
  • CREATIVITY (10) - Does the preparation reflect the bartender’s creative identity through thoughtful technique, distinctive style, and visual appeal?
  • EFFICIENCY (5) - How efficiently the cocktail can be built with consistency and speed & replicated by others to make it a future icon
  • CLASSIC LINK (10) - Does the serve give the main brand a rightful and relevant place, making its presence feel essential to the cocktail’s identity?

30. STAGE 2 - PROMOTION: Dates as stated as section 8 of this document. During this time, Entrant’s bars are visited by secret shoppers and judged on the drink, visibility & engagement (maximum 100 points). Top scoring Entrants at the end of this period will be announced as National Finalists and will take part in the National Final event. Number of National Finalists will vary per market, at the discretion of the Promoter:

  • TASTE (15) - Taste, mouthfeel, texture, harmony of flavours and finish of the drink
  • GARNISH (10) - Does the garnish enhance the visual or aromatic appeal of the cocktail?
  • GLASSWARE (10) - How appropriate is the vessel to showcase the serve?

PERFORMANCE:

  • PRESENATION (10) - Narrative explaining the cocktail, highlighting the lead brand and how effectively it’s presented, linking its heritage and connections to relevant trends, and the value it brings to the serve
  • TECHNIQUE (10) - How the cocktail is crafted and presented, including technical skills, flair and visual impact during preparation
  • EFFICIENCY (10) - How efficiently the cocktail can be built with consistency and speed & replicated by others to make it a future icon

VISIBILITY:

  • COLLATERALS (5) - Are there visual collaterals related to the competition? (secondary menu, tent cards, QR code, etc.)
  • RECCOMENDATION (5) - Recommendation of the competition cocktail(s) to the customers
  • BACK BAR (5) - Are the priority brands visible on the back bar?
  • SOCIAL MEDIA (10) - Social Media promotion of the serve (Instagram post) using #FutureIconsByBacardi

31. STAGE 3 – NATIONAL FINAL – The National Finalists will prepare and present their Future Icon cocktail to a panel of judges at the event (maximum 40 points). They will also take part in the Wildcard Challenge to craft another Cocktail. The challenge theme will be communicated to finalists in advance, and is designed in alignment with market priorities and inspired by relevant market and industry trends. This will be judged by the panel on drink, performance and engagement (maximum 60 points). There will be three National Finalists, awarded first, second and third place who will receive a trophy, cash prize and invitation to the Regional Final in Thailand.

  • EFFICIENCY (5) - How efficiently the cocktail can be built with consistency and speed & replicated by others to make it a future icon

WILDCARD CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE RESPONSE:

  • INTERPRETATION (5) - How clear is the connection to the challenge set? Demonstrated understanding of industry trends and the theme
  • CREATIVITY (5) - Creative use of ingredients

DRINK:

  • TASTE (10) - Taste, mouthfeel, texture, harmony of flavours and finish of the drink
  • GARNISH (10) - Does the garnish enhance the visual or aromatic appeal of the cocktail?
  • GLASSWARE (10) - How appropriate is the vessel to showcase the serve?

PERFORMANCE:

  • PRESENATION (10) - Name, narrative and explanation of the cocktail, lead brand used and how effectively its conveyed
  • TECHNIQUE (10) - How the cocktail is crafted and presented, including technical skills, flair and visual impact during preparation

32. STAGE 4 – REGIONAL FINAL – The National Finalists will be invited to Bangkok, Thailand (tentatively 9 to 13 March 2026) to take part in the 5-day Regional Final which will be a combination of activities covering education, cultural immersion and the final competitions. The Individual Final is when each bartender will present their optimized Future Icon cocktail to a panel of judges (maximum 100 points). There will be no audience for this, and judges will not share results until later that day. The Team Challenge groups bartenders into country teams to compete in a unique, trend-led challenge, with invited guests and consumers in the audience (maximum 100 points). The winners will be announced once both finals have been completed. There will be one overall winner and one market team winning group (3 bartenders).

MENTOR/JUDGES OBSERVATION

  • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (10) - Mentors/Judges to award up to 10 points based on the level of refinement and development the bartender’s presentation has achieved through mentorship and coaching - end of day taste test on day 3 - to be awarded in secret and added to final score on finals day.
  • COCKTAIL DEVELOPMENT (10) - Mentors/Judges to award up to 10 points based on the level of refinement and development the serve achieved through mentorship and coaching - end of day taste test on day 3 - to be awarded in secret and added to final score on finals day.

DRINK:

  • TASTE (20) - Taste, mouthfeel, texture, harmony of flavours and finish of the drink
  • GARNISH (10) - Does the garnish enhance the visual or aromatic appeal of the cocktail?
  • GLASSWARE (10) - How appropriate is the vessel to showcase the serve?

PERFORMANCE:

  • PRESENATION (20) - Narrative explaining the cocktail, highlighting the lead brand and how effectively it’s presented, linking its heritage and connections to relevant trends, and the value it brings to the serve
  • TECHNIQUE (10) - How the cocktail is crafted and presented, including technical skills, flair and visual impact during preparation
  • EFFICIENCY (10) - How efficiently the cocktail can be built with consistency and speed & replicated by others to make it a future icon

TEAM CHALLENGE FINAL

MENTOR/JUDGES OBSERVATION

  • TEAMWORK (20) - Mentors/Judges to award up to 20 points during team challenge preparations based on agreed criteria to be met (e.g. teamwork, attitude, resourcefulness, approach to challenge etc.) - to be awarded in secret and added to final score.

DRINK:

  • TASTE (20) - Taste, mouthfeel, texture, harmony of flavours and finish of the drink
  • GARNISH (10) - Does the garnish enhance the visual or aromatic appeal of the cocktail?
  • GLASSWARE (10) - How appropriate is the vessel to showcase the serve?

PERFORMANCE:

  • PRESENATION (20) - Narrative explaining the cocktail, highlighting the lead brand and how effectively it’s presented, linking its heritage and connections to relevant trends, and the value it brings to the serve
  • TECHNIQUE (10) - How the cocktail is crafted and presented, including technical skills, flair and visual impact during preparation
  • EFFICIENCY (10) - How efficiently the cocktail can be built with consistency and speed & replicated by others to make it a future icon

PRIZES

33. List of prizes:

  1. NATIONAL
    1. NATIONAL FINALISTS – Top 3 bartenders per country sent to the Regional Final: Invitation to Regional Final in Bangkok, Trophy + cash prize at the discretion of the local teams.
  2. REGIONAL
    1. INDIVIDUAL WINNER (FUTURE ICON) – 1 Regional winner: prizes inclusive of, but not limited to a “Spirit Trail” trip in Europe, invites, guest shifts within region, invite to join next year’s judging panel, feature on Bacardi Freepour app
    2. TEAM CHALLENGE WINNERS – 3 Bartenders from the same country: guest shift exposure in the Entrants’ country (where the contestants participated in the Promotion) + “Spirit Trail” trip in Europe. If the INDIVIDUAL WINNER is also part of the TEAM CHALLENGE winning team, no other bartender may take the empty spot to the “Spirit Trail”

34. “Spirit Trail” trip to Europe – full details to be confirmed. The prize comprises a return economy class flight from a city designated by the Organiser to France & Italy, for the Indivudual Winner + Team Challenge Winners to arrive in 2026 (tentatively from May 25th to May 29th 2026), costs of public transport to and from the designated departure city before and after the flight, the cost of transportation to and from Europe (and transportation linked to activities planned by the organizer), accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as applicable during the dates of the trip. All other costs, including travel insurance, food and drink outside of the main trip events and meals are the sole responsibility of the winner.

35. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure he/she/they have/has a valid passport and visa, travel documents, personal travel insurance, and vaccinations in order to be able to take up the prize. This includes any relevant covid compliant tests and documentation needed for travel. The prize does not guarantee issuing of visas to the winner. The prize trip must be taken on the dates organised by the Promoter. Rearranging the dates due to the winner being unavailable for any reason will not be possible.

36. The prizes do not include any personal expenditure, any incidental costs or any amount other than those specifically included in Section 34. It is the personal responsibility of each winner to notify local fiscal authorities of the country of his/her/their residence on the nomination and / or receipt of any prize hereunder as well as to pay all applicable taxes.

37. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any part thereof) for a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control. There is no cash alternative to the prizes (or any part thereof) and unless the Promoter agrees otherwise in writing; the prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

38. Third party terms and conditions apply to parts of the prize. Winners are solely responsible for ensuring they are familiar with such third-party terms and conditions.

LIABILITY

39. The Promoter accepts full liability for death or personal injury caused by the Promoter’s negligence, or loss caused by a false statement of the Promoter, where the statement is made fraudulently, or for any other losses that cannot be excluded at law. Otherwise, the following exclusions of liability will apply. References to the “Promoter” in this Liability section include all of the Promoter’s associated companies, agents or any other third party assisting the Promoter in the Promotion.

40. The Promoter will not be responsible for (and will have no liability in connection with) the following occurrences, to the extent that they occur for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control:

  1. any postponement or cancellation of the Promotion;
  2. any changes to the prizes or the way in which they can be used;
  3. problems with the dispatch of prizes (such as a prize failing to reach the intended recipient); and
  4. any act or default of any third-party supplier

41. Without limiting the generality of the previous section, Promoter shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling any obligations in these Terms and Conditions, if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond Promoter’s reasonable control, including, but not limited to, if Promoter determines, in its sole discretion, that it is advisable to cancel or postpone any scheduled event (or prize) in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or any other communicable illness.

42. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, which may affect the sending, receipt or processing of an entry or for entries lost, damaged, delayed or unreadable, including loss of entries through technical fault or transmission delays.

43. If the Promoter has grounds to suspect any Entrant or third party of cheating, deception or fraudulent or unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind (including, without limitation, manipulating the promotion, choice of prize winner(s) or any entry (or establishing multiple registrations in order to gain multiple entries where the number of entries is limited) the Promoter reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to disqualify any Entrant, entry or person it reasonably believes to be responsible for, or associated with, such activity. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the Promoter further reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who is intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of alcohol or drugs, such conduct being expressly prohibited.

44. The winner should be in good health and appropriately fit for travel and waives any claim they may have against the Promoter for any safety or health issue or problem they may have during travel.

45. The Promoter shall not be liable under these Terms and Conditions, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) for breach of statutory duty or otherwise:

  1. for any loss of profit, saving, business or economic loss (in each case whether direct or indirect); or
  2. for any indirect, special or consequential loss.

PERSONAL DETAILS AND PUBLICITY

46. As set out in Section 27, the Entrant must accept the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and, and also has to agree to the Marketing Statement on the Registration Page.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

47. All intellectual property rights (including, without limitation, copyrights, database rights, trademarks, designs, logos, text, images, audio and video materials, look and feel and software (including code, interface and website structure)) in the Content, any press, online or offline articles or videos directly or indirectly connected with the Promotion or the Promoter group’s brands, (“IP Materials”) are owned by the Promoter (or its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents or partners). Where the Entrant owns any intellectual property rights in the IP Materials it hereby assigns them to Promoter (or its designated assignee) with full title guarantee free from encumbrances.

48. The IP Materials are protected by intellectual property laws and treaties around the world.

49. All rights in the IP Materials are reserved and it is strictly prohibited to remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from any IP Materials.

50. Entrant also agrees that Promoter and its affiliates may use photographs and recordings of the Entrant taken in relation to the Promotion and his/her name and likeness and other personal data for any editorial trade, product advertising and other business purpose in any manner and medium and that Promoter and its affiliates may use the Entrant’s personal data obtained in relation to the Promotion as necessary in relation to the Promotion or otherwise in accordance with the Promoter privacy policy accepted by the Entrant in accordance with Section 10.

51. This Promotion, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it (including the prizes), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and Entrants irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle such dispute of claim.

52. If any part of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the rest of these Terms and Conditions will not be affected. The Promoter’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
