Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) apply to all persons (“Entrants”) entering the FUTURE ICONS Competition 2026-2027 (“Promotion”), and agree to be bound by them, when entering this Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any given time, if the terms below change based on any circumstances beyond Promoter’s control.

‍Entrant(s) – Refers to all those who enter & are selected to take part in the competition, up to & including the National Final.‍

National Finalists – Refers to the top scoring entrants who will proceed to the National Final.

National Winner – Refers to the top scoring entrant who will proceed to the Global Final.

Global Winner – Individual Final – Refers to the overall winner of the Individual Challenge at the Global Final. Individual winners are not eligible to enter or compete in any future editions of the competition.

‍Team Challenge Winners – Refers to the 3 winners of the team challenge event at the Global Final. Team Challenge Winners are eligible to enter future editions of the competition, and are eligible to win the Team Challenge in future editions as well.

PROMOTER

1. The promoter is Bacardi-Martini B.V. of Weena 505, 3013 AL Rotterdam, The Netherlands (“Promoter”). The Promoter is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Promotion (including determination of winners, prize-giving, and technical support etc.), with the assistance of local partners at the discretion of the promoter.

ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY PERIOD

3. This Promotion is open to Entrants who are legal residents in Australia, and from or above 18 years old.

4. The following may not enter or win a prize: (a) employees of Promoter or its agents and their first- and second-degree family members, including but not limited to siblings, children, or cousins, and (b) anyone else who is directly or indirectly professionally connected with the Promotion or the Promoter and their family members.

6. Any entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered for inclusion into the Promotion.

9. To take part in this promotion, Entrants must visit futureiconsbybacardi.com and complete the online registration page.

10. Entrants will need to provide the following information when entering the competition via the online registration page:

11. Once a submission has been completed, Entrants will land on a confirmation page confirming that their submission has been received and that they will be contacted via email after the entry period’s closing date if their cocktail is selected to progress within the competition. The Promoter reserves the right to reject entries based on incomplete information being provided, inappropriate content / language, or if they otherwise fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Once the entry has been submitted, Entrants will be unable to go back and amend their cocktail entry, but may review their entry and/or edit personal details.

12. By entering this promotion, Entrants warrant and represent (guarantee) that they know of no information, facts or circumstances related in any way to the Entrant that could reasonably be considered damaging or embarrassing to the Promoter by virtue of the association between the Promoter and the Entrant arising from this promotion.‍

LIMITATIONS / RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRY

‍13. Each Entrant is to submit and list two (2) cocktails for the duration of the promotion:
one Classic Cocktail and one FUTURE ICONS Cocktail:
- The Classic Cocktail is a time-tested drink with a simple, balanced recipe that’s widely recognized, consistently replicable, and forms part of the bartender’s essential repertoire.

- The FUTURE ICONS Cocktail is a modern riff: a twist on a classic cocktail that keeps its core structure but swaps ingredients, techniques, or flavours to create something fresh and contemporary.

If two or more Entrants are employed by the same bar or venue, only one (1) Classic Cocktail is required to be listed and submitted per venue for the duration of the Promotion. Each Entrant must individually list and submit one (1) FUTURE ICONS Cocktail.

14. Entrants must use a minimum of 30ml of the specified Bacardi portfolio brand per cocktail. Recipes must not exceed 7 ingredients, including spirit and garnish. Standard ice does not count as an ingredient, while any flavoured or modified ice will be considered an ingredient. Any undeclared garnish or spritz will be considered an ingredient. Sub-recipes and methods for any homemade ingredients must be provided and be replicable

15. Entries that do not include all components set out in clause 14 and entries that do not comply in full with these Terms and Conditions will be disqualified and will not be counted.

16. If an Entrant is unable to compete for any reason, including VISA requirements, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to either:
(i) disqualify the Entrant with no replacement;
(ii) replace the Entrant with the next eligible runner-up; or
(iii) defer the Entrant’s participation to a subsequent edition of the Promotion

17. The Promoter reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel this Promotion and/or these Terms and Conditions if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.

18. Entrants are responsible for ensuring they will be able to accept the prize(s) as set out below and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. This includes obtaining the visa required to travel to the Global Final and the winners’ paid trip. Whilst the Promoter may support to facilitate visa obtention, it shall bear no responsibility if the participant fails to obtain the visa, and the Promoter may in that case provide a reasonable compensation at its discretion.

DRINKS CONTENT STANDARDS FOR ENTRIES

19. National & Global Events: The indicated Bacardi Portfolio brand(s) must be the dominant spirit ingredient by ml in the recipe. Entrants will be provided with a competition toolkit prior to their recipe submission, detailing the specific challenges, recipe submissions, rules and scoring criteria. If using additional spirits, outside of the core indicated brand, Entrants must only use Promoter group’s brands, as per the pre-selected submission list, or the list on www.bacardilimited.com

20. Spirits from the promoter's group are to be purchased solely through an appointed distributor. No spirit bottles outside the Promoter group’s brands must be visible in pictures or assets submitted for the entry.

21. The content standards set out below (“Content Standards”) apply to all Content or other information or materials provided by the Entrant. The Content Standards serve to provide examples and are not meant to be an exhaustive list of the types of Content that are unacceptable for the purposes of the Promotion.

22. The Promoter expressly reserves the right to disallow or disqualify (or prevent from passing through the judging stage) any entry which it considers does not comply with these Content Standards or which it considers does not meet normal standards of taste and decency.

23. By entering this Promotion, the Entrant hereby warrants, represents and undertakes that they have read and understood Bacardi Limited Responsible Marketing Principles, available upon request and substantially set out in this Section, and that the Content meets the following Content Standards. For full details, please refer to: drinkwise.org.au and rsa.edu.au. Alcohol can cause harm to the person who drinks and sometimes to others around them.

- All Content must be legal and meet normal standards of taste and decency;

- All Content must meet all applicable requirements relating to advertising and promotions, including the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing and the Direct Marketing Association code of conduct;

- Drinks, drink names and content must not encourage, condone, promote or glamorize under-age, excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcoholic beverages or drink driving or any behaviour considered dangerous, antisocial, illegal or immoral;

- Drinks and drink names must not be derogatory or defamatory of any person, entity or institution;

- Drinks and drink names must not be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;

- Drinks and drink names must not promote violence of any kind;

- Drinks and drink names must not be sexually explicit and any accompanying photographs must not contain any nudity;

- Drinks and drink names must not harm or attempt to harm anyone, in any way;

- Drinks and drink names must not be targeted at or be likely to appeal to an audience under the legal drinking age of the country the Entrant is participating from;

- Drinks and drink names must not promote discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;

- Drinks and drink names must not be likely to harass, upset, embarrass alarm or annoy any person;

- Drinks and drink names must not be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent the Entrant’s identity or their affiliation with another person or entity; and

- The use of the Content for the Promotion must not infringe the intellectual property of any person.‍

‍- Participants must comply with all applicable local laws, regulations and country-specific responsible drinking guidelines. For full details, please refer to the Annexes.

PROMOTER’S USE OF CONTENT

24. By entering the Promotion, Entrants grant the Promoter, its affiliated companies and its subcontractors the irrevocable, perpetual (non-exclusive) permission and right to use any and all Materials, Promotion entries, photographs, videos, voice recordings and any other media relating to the Promotion or the Entrant supplied to, or captured by, the Promoter in connection with the Promotion:

- For the purposes of administering this Promotion;

- For promotional and publicity purposes in any media throughout the world, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from the Entrant;

- In any way in all digital and social media in connection with the Promoter and the Promotion, in each case, including transmitting, storing, publishing and processing the information and data set out, in such manner as the Promoter deems fit, and in its absolute discretion, including outside of their own country.

- Entrants hereby agree to do such other things and execute such other documents as are reasonably requested in order to allow the Promoter to make such use of the Materials and to give effect to these Terms and Conditions. An Entrant may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity and public relations activity in connection with the Promotion.

25. To the extent permitted by law, Entrants hereby waive in favour of the Promoter, and agree not to assert, any moral rights (or similar rights worldwide) in, and in connection with, their Materials.

‍WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

26. STAGE 1 – SUBMISSION: Entrants are invited to register and submit their two entry cocktails – Classic Cocktail & FUTURE ICONS Cocktail for FUTURE ICONS 2026-2027 on the futureiconsbybacardi.com website between the dates stated in section 5 of this document. A panel of judges will assess & score entries before confirming participation of all Entrants.

27. STAGE 2 - PROMOTION: Dates as stated as section 7 of this document. During this time, Entrant’s bars can be visited by secret shoppers and judged on the drink, visibility & engagement. Top scoring Entrants at the end of this period will be announced as one of the 10 National Finalists and will take part in the National Final event.

28. STAGE 3 – NATIONAL FINAL: The National Finalists will prepare and present their FUTURE ICONS Cocktail to a panel of judges at the event. They will also take part in the Mystery Challenge to craft another Cocktail. The challenge theme will be communicated to finalists in advance, is designed in alignment with country priorities for Bacardi, and inspired by relevant industry trends. This will be judged by the panel on drink, performance and engagement. There will be 1 (one) National Winner who will receive a trophy, together with an invitation to the Global Final. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award additional prizes where deemed appropriate.

Note: Judges will apply a 10-point penalty (by judge) if the competitor exceeds the allocated presentation time. The penalty applies immediately once the allocated time is exceeded. If the presentation exceeds the allocated time by more than 30 seconds, the competitor may be disqualified.

Judges will also apply a 10-point penalty, at their discretion, if the required number of cocktails are not presented consistently (e.g. cocktails not prepared equally).

Failure to present the required number of cocktails (e.g. only one cocktail served when multiple are required) will result in disqualification.

Any missing ingredient from the declared recipe or failure to present a required cocktail will result in disqualification.

29. STAGE 4 – GLOBAL FINAL: The National Winners will be invited to participate in the Global Final, scheduled from 15 to 19 March 2027 in Singapore. The 5-day programme will comprise a series of activities, including educational sessions, cultural immersion experiences and the final competition stages in 2 phases: INDIVIDUAL FINAL and TEAM CHALLENGE.


INDIVIDUAL FINAL
Each bartender will present their FUTURE ICONS cocktail to a panel of judges, in a session session open to local trade and invited guests. Judges will deliberate privately and results will be announced later that day, crowning 1 (one) FUTURE ICONS Global Champion.

Individual Winner: prizes inclusive of, but not limited to a “Spirit Trail” trip in Europe, invites, guest shifts within region, invite to join next year’s judging panel.

Team Challenge Winners: guest shift exposure in the Entrants’ respective countries + “Spirit Trail” trip in Europe.
If the INDIVIDUAL WINNER is also part of the TEAM CHALLENGE winning team, no other bartender may take the empty spot to the “Spirit Trail”

31. “Spirit Trail” trip to Europe: prize comprising an economy return flight to one or several cities designated by the Organiser, for the Individual Winner + Team Challenge Winners (tentatively from May 22nd to May 28th 2027), costs of public transport to and from the designated departure city before and after the flight, the cost of transportation to and from Europe (and transportation linked to activities planned by the Organiser), accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as applicable during the dates of the trip. All other costs, including travel insurance, food and drink outside of the main trip events and meals are the sole responsibility of the winner.

32. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure he/she/they have/has a valid passport and visa, travel documents, personal travel insurance, and vaccinations in order to be able to take up the prize. This includes any relevant covid compliant tests and documentation needed for travel. The prize does not guarantee issuing of visas to the winner. The prize trip must be taken on the dates organised by the Promoter. Rearranging the dates due to the winner being unavailable for any reason will not be possible.

33. The prizes do not include any personal expenditure, any incidental costs or any amount other than those specifically included in Section 30. It is the personal responsibility of each winner to notify local fiscal authorities of the country of his/her/their residence on the nomination and / or receipt of any prize hereunder as well as to pay all applicable taxes.

34. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any part thereof) for a prize or prizes of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control. There is no cash alternative to the prizes (or any part thereof) and unless the Promoter agrees otherwise in writing; the prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

35. Third party terms and conditions apply to parts of the prize. Winners are solely responsible for ensuring they are familiar with such third-party terms and conditions.

LIABILITY

36. The Promoter accepts full liability for death or personal injury caused by the Promoter’s negligence, or loss caused by a false statement of the Promoter, where the statement is made fraudulently, or for any other losses that cannot be excluded at law. Otherwise, the following exclusions of liability will apply. References to the “Promoter” in this Liability section include all of the Promoter’s associated companies, agents or any other third party assisting the Promoter in the Promotion.

37. The Promoter will not be responsible for (and will have no liability in connection with) the following occurrences, to the extent that they occur for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control:

- any postponement or cancellation of the Promotion;

- any changes to the prizes or the way in which they can be used;

- problems with the dispatch of prizes (such as a prize failing to reach the intended recipient); and

- any act or default of any third-party supplier

38. The Promoter shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling any obligations in these Terms and Conditions if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond Promoter’s reasonable control, including, but not limited to, situations where the Promoter determines, in its sole discretion, that it is advisable to cancel, postpone, relocate or modify any scheduled event, stage or prize. In such circumstances, the Promoter also reserves the right to amend the structure or timing of the Promotion, including allowing Entrants to participate in a subsequent edition of the Promotion where participation in the current edition is not reasonably possible.

39. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, which may affect the sending, receipt or processing of an entry or for entries lost, damaged, delayed or unreadable, including loss of entries through technical fault or transmission delays.

40. If the Promoter has grounds to suspect any Entrant or third party of cheating, deception or fraudulent or unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind (including, without limitation, manipulating the promotion, choice of prize winner(s) or any entry (or establishing multiple registrations in order to gain multiple entries where the number of entries is limited) the Promoter reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to disqualify any Entrant, entry or person it reasonably believes to be responsible for, or associated with, such activity. Without prejudice to the foregoing, the Promoter further reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who is intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of alcohol or drugs, such conduct being expressly prohibited.

41. The winner should be in good health and appropriately fit for travel and waives any claim they may have against the Promoter for any safety or health issue or problem they may have during travel.

42. The Promoter shall not be liable under these Terms and Conditions, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) for breach of statutory duty or otherwise: for any loss of profit, saving, business or economic loss (in each case whether direct or indirect); or for any indirect, special or consequential loss.

PERSONAL DETAILS AND PUBLICITY

43. As set out in Section 24, the Entrant must accept the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, and also has to agree to the Marketing Statement on the Registration Page.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

44. All intellectual property rights (including, without limitation, copyrights, database rights, trademarks, designs, logos, text, images, audio and video materials, look and feel and software (including code, interface and website structure)) in the Content, any press, online or offline articles or videos directly or indirectly connected with the Promotion or the Promoter group’s brands, (“IP Materials”) are owned by the Promoter (or its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents or partners). Where the Entrant owns any intellectual property rights in the IP Materials it hereby assigns them to Promoter (or its designated assignee) with full title guarantee free from encumbrances.

45. Notwithstanding the above, any intellectual property rights in the cocktail recipes created by the Entrants shall remain the property of the respective Entrants.

By entering the Promotion, each Entrant grants the Promoter a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, publish and adapt such recipes for the purposes of promoting and operating the Promotion and related FUTURE ICONS activities, with appropriate credit given to the Entrant as the creator.

46. The IP Materials are protected by intellectual property laws and treaties around the world.

47. All rights in the IP Materials are reserved and it is strictly prohibited to remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from any IP Materials.

48. Entrant also agrees that Promoter and its affiliates may use photographs and recordings of the Entrant taken in relation to the Promotion and his/her name and likeness and other personal data for any editorial trade, product advertising and other business purpose in any manner and medium and that Promoter and its affiliates may use the Entrant’s personal data obtained in relation to the Promotion as necessary in relation to the Promotion or otherwise in accordance with the Promoter privacy policy accepted by the Entrant.

49. This Promotion, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it (including the prizes), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and Entrants irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle such dispute of claim.

50. If any part of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the rest of these Terms and Conditions will not be affected. The Promoter’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
